This is a free music player that takes advantage of the Windows 7 Aero Glass visual style. The application is an excellent choice for those looking for a lightweight application with the basic functions of an audio player.
One of the first things that caught my attention about this app was its beautiful and simple design. Its interface consists of a transparent layout with a color visualization effect that looks really great. While a song is being played, the app displays the album cover, if available, along with some basic information about the track such as name, artist, and album. The bar with the player controls blends nicely with the rest of the design; the buttons are just of the right size and allow you to perform the most common actions: play, pause, control volume, jump to previous or next tracks. Shuffle and repeat are also available.
There is support for playlists, so it's possible to create, export, and open existing playlists in m3u format. To add songs, you just browse your computer for music files or folders, or simply pick a song from Windows Explorer and drop it into the player window. Additional features include a 10-band equalizer with presets, and a 'widget' version of the app, a sort of mini-player mode.
In short, in Aero Glass MP3 Player you will find a nice-looking application with the essential functionality to play music. If there is one drawback, it's certainly that the format support is quite limited: it only works with MP3 and AAC. Well, and it runs on Windows 7 only. Other than that, it's definitely worth giving a try.
